History of the Memory Lane Museum in Mooresville, NC

By 1908, the residents of Mooresville had already made their mark on the country’s history. The town’s first school opened in 1856, and a high school was built in 1881. By the 1920s, two hospitals had also been built in Mooresville. In 1962, Clyde and Louise Rogers, who had lived in Mooresville all their lives, had begun collecting house and hospital artifacts, as well as old photographs. By 1974, they had founded the Mooresville Memory Lane Museum. Louise Rogers served as the Museum’s president until she died in 1998; Clyde Rogers died in 2005.
